PEC-PG Program: Graduate Studies in Brazil for Foreigners
The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Pós-Graduação (PEC-PG) offers a unique opportunity for international students to pursue their master’s or doctoral studies in Brazil.
This initiative is coordinated by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
A total of 650 scholarships will be awarded: 100 for full doctoral programs (up to 48 months), 350 for sandwich doctoral programs (lasting from six to ten months), and 200 for full master’s programs (up to 24 months). These scholarships are intended for in-person graduate programs at Brazilian higher education and research institutions.
The application period for international candidates runs from 14 August to 29 September for full master’s and doctoral programs, and from 1 October to 30 December 2025 for sandwich doctoral programs.
